Original Gravity Public House

Located in the heart of Downtown San Jose, Original Gravity offers 35 rotating taps of incredible craft beer, ciders and meads as well as a small but mighty bottle selection. We are constantly seeking out the best and brightest craft beer has to offer. Focusing our list loosely on 80% domestic and 20% imported craft, with attention to seasonal offerings as well. Local or abroad chances are you'll find it here.

Original Gravity prides itself on a welcoming environment for beer geeks to the craft curious alike. Order food and drinks at the bar, take a number, grab your beverage and a seat and we will find you with the grub.

Sun - Wed expect to find a seat, Thurs - Sat get pretty busy and our tables and our beer garden fill up fast. First come first serve, reservations for groups of 10 or more 24 hours in advance depending on availability.

We take craft beer very seriously but always aim to have a fun and informative conversation about it. We aim to share and teach without the snobbery, and find something new and exciting for you each and every time.

Join us and some of the best producers of the increasingly popular beer alternative, Cider and Mead as we showcase an array of styles in a joint tap takeover!

As the craft beer movement rapidly grows, there is another fermentation revolution happening right within our midst, so come experience 10 different takes on these gluten free partners in crime all under the same roof.

We will be featuring an extremely diverse lineup as well as hosting some of the people behind these delicious and unique concoctions here to talk with you about their craft.

There will also be a specialty pop up salad on our menu to pair with the drinks, so come on down and have a few glasses of some of the best Cider and Mead around!

Firkin Friday! w/ Freewheel Brewing

Welcome to the first edition of Firkin Friday at Original Gravity! Every last Friday of the month we plan on bringing you a one off cask of something special, usually direct from the brewery and made just for us to pour on our Cask Engine.

We will be showcasing a wide variety of styles, hops and adjuncts to make these beers truly memorable with our goal to kick the cask by evening's end.

Our first Firkin Friday will feature Mind the Gap IPA from Freewheel Brewing Company out of Redwood City, CA. Established in 2012, Freewheel is a traditional producer of English Style Cask Ales, we are honored to have them at Original Gravity for our first Cask tapping!

Come experience West Coast beers at their finest and hang with Brewery Rep Paige Reilly for a taste of something new.

In 2011, beer enthusiasts Meg Gill and Tony Yanow founded Golden Road Brewing to bring fresh beer to the local market in the most sustainable way possible.
